RSD's SM-Designer Software - Show Control Window

Show Control Window

The Show Control window is where the show is actually operated and monitored. MIDI Show Control commands are executed and the show's progress is monitored in this window.

Details about the show are given in the top left column: Show name and number, total number of lists and paths, specific number of list, path, cue number, etc.

In this particular show, the list clock zeros when each cue is fired. The sequence clock begins when the list opens. The cabinet on the right of each column is an indication of what commands can be executed. In this case, if the cabinet icon on the right is clicked, a CLOSE CUE LIST command will get executed. Likewise, in the right column a CLOSE CUE LIST or an OPEN CUE LIST command can get sent.

The F12 on the keyboard is the GO CUE command which will fire the StandBy cue. In this case, Cue 10 has just gone and Cue 10.1 is in StandBy awaiting a GO command.

Cue Control Buttons The "Play" button makes the StandBy cue Go. The left and right arrow buttons will change the StandBy cue to the previous or next cue in the sequence.

Clock Control Buttons The Stop and Play button will stop and start the list and sequence clock. The zero will zero only the list clock.

Refresh Button When a change has been made in the offline Show Editor window, "Show Requires Refresh" will flash to the right of these icons. The refresh button will update any changes in the show by refreshing the current live show file.

Echo Buttons If the MIDI-MIDI button is selected, any incoming MIDI data from the MIDI IN port of the computer will merge with the internal MIDI data in the computer and pass through to the MIDI OUT port of the computer. If this button is not selected, only the internal SM-Designer processes will receive the messages from the MIDI IN port.

If the SMA-MIDI button is selected, any data from SM-Designer will merge with the MIDI data in the live show running in the SM-Assistant show control engine and pass through to the MIDI OUT port of the computer. If this button is not selected, only the internal live show processes will receive the messages from SM-Designer.

If the Local SM Cmd Filter button is selected, all messages intended only for SM-Assistant and SoundMan-Server will be filtered out of the MIDI messages being transmitted through the MIDI OUT port of the computer.
